Tara Attfield-Tomes is a PR and events expert with a passion for people and making a difference.
With over 15 years’ of experience under her belt, Tara has helped businesses of all sizes build and protect strong employer brands and supported founders in establishing themselves as thought leaders in their industries. As the founder of multi-award-winning agency EAST VILLAGE, Tara works with brands that make people feel good, primarily across the creative and tech, health and wellbeing, and leisure and hospitality sectors.
As Founder and Managing Director of EAST VILLAGE, Tara is committed to building an “agency for a modern workforce”, one that prioritises team culture, flexible working, and inclusivity.
In addition to her role at the agency, Tara is a Founding Trustee and Chair of Let’s Feed Brum, which recently received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service: the charity equivalent of an MBE. As well as sitting on the Management Committee for Tabor Living and a Patron of SIFA Fireside. All organisations that support the homeless.
A champion for diversity and representation in the creative industries, Tara sits on the Soho House ‘Cities Without Houses’ Birmingham committee and is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board for The Agency Collective. She is a mentor for Soho Mentorship, the Help To Grow scheme and Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Future Faces.
Tara is a sought-after speaker, who shares her expertise on personal and employer branding, building a strong team culture, leading with empathy, and being a female entrepreneur.
Recently named ‘Brummie of the Year’ at the Birmingham Awards 2022 and ‘Business Hero of the Year’ at the City of Birmingham Business Awards 2022, Tara is dedicated to uplifting ambitious, passionate individuals and challenging the status quo.
